What Public Transit Options Are There in Oklahoma City, OK?
The majority of public transit in Oklahoma City is provided by EMBARK, which is operated by the Central Oklahoma Transport and Parking Authority (COTPA). EMBARK provides a range of services in and around OKC.
1. EMBARK Bus Services
EMBARK offers more than 20 fixed city bus routes, most of which terminate at the EMBARK Transit Center in Downtown OKC. The majority of these routes depart every 30 minutes during the week, and hourly at weekends, and criss-cross the city, covering most neighborhoods in the area.
Hours of operation vary depending on the service, but most city routes operate Monday to Friday from 5:30 am to 6:30 pm, and weekends from 6:30 am to 5:30 pm.
2. EMBARK Norman Bus Routes
EMBARK also offers 7 routes between OKC and Norman, a nearby city to the southeast. All Norman routes a fare-free, except the 24 Norman Express, and typically operate Monday to Friday between 7 am and 10 pm, and Saturdays from 10 am to 7 pm.
These services run from Norman Transit Center on Comanche Street in downtown Norman and terminate at various destinations in OKC.
3. RAPID Bus Service
RAPID is Oklahoma City’s Bus Rapid Transit service, connecting downtown Oklahoma City and the Lake Hefner area. Along the way, the bus makes stops at various commercial and medical centers, as well as several downtown stops and residential areas along Classen Boulevard.
Covering a total of 9 miles and making 32 stops, the RAPID service connects seamlessly to the wider bus network and boasts traffic priority for a speedier service.
4. OKC Streetcar
The OKC Streetcar runs two loops in the heart of downtown OKC, taking in neighborhoods such as Midtown, City Center, Bricktown, and Automobile Alley. Services run every 12-15 minutes between 6 am and midnight Monday to Thursday, 6 am to 2 am on Fridays, 7 am to 2 am on Saturdays, and 7 am to 10 pm on Sundays.
The smaller Bricktown Loop only runs at weekends, from 6 am to 2 am on Fridays, 7 am to 2 am on Saturdays, and 7 am to 10 pm on Sundays. With a stop at the Oklahoma City Transit Center, the Downtown Streetcar Loop easily connects to a range of bus routes.

Most EMBARK buses are equipped with kneeling capability to assist wheelchair users and others who may struggle to climb onto the bus. Meanwhile, all RAPID and Streetcar stations offer 100% level boarding, making it even easier. Public Transit costs are very affordable in Oklahoma City, with standard daily bus passes costing just $4 for 24 hours of unlimited travel. A 7-day pass costs $14, a 30-day pass is $50, while an annual pass is $600. A single, one-way fare for a local route is $1.75 and $3 for an express route. Fifty percent reductions apply for seniors (over 65), people on Medicare, and ADA cardholders.
A single Streetcar ride will cost $1 as standard, $3 for a day pass, $32 for a 30-day pass, and $384 for an annual pass. Again, reduced prices are 50% cheaper for those who qualify.
All EMBARK Norman Buses are free of charge, except the 24 Norman Express.
