We visited 28 Austin this week to see the facilities and were very impressed. Our ratings are based on what we saw and not our experience living there. The building is very well maintained and you can see that everything has been well cared for. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting Rhonda who was very knowledgeable about the whole community and took pride in 28 Austin. The apartments are very well appointed, modern and very welcoming. The apartment we saw had already been taken but it was great to see how the apartments are laid out and materials used in the construction. The location is top notch with a grocery store across the street, the MBTA Commuter rail within a quick walk, the 59 bus from Watertown Sq. to Needham Junction, CVS, USPS, UPS store and the Cooper Center, an active Senior Center which is something that appeals to us, all within a short walk. The Newton Public Library is on the 59 bus route and a moderate walk. There is no guest parking included, but there is a metered municipal parking lot behind the building and metered parking on many streets. The West Newton Cinema is nearby. We hope in the future to be 28 Austin St. tenants.
