Serenade Apartments

The Serenade is a small, quiet building in a decent neighborhood close to grocery and restaurants in Adams Morgan and U/14, as well as Meridian Hill Park. The renovations in the building are nice, modern, but keep the historic nature of the building. The only critiques of the building, I'd suggest, are somewhat inaccessible staff (no office in the building, and turnover with the management company), occasional bug issues, and inconsistent noise (not issues from the neighbors, just the structure of the building capturing some random steps, creaks, etc.). Having a washer/dryer in the unit is ideal, though the HE combined washer/dryer is frustrating at times for both speed and detergent stains. Regardless, the building is a solid deal, and I would recommend it.

I've lived in the building for two months - it's a great value, with nice finishes. The building is also very clean - a plus. Although there are no amenities, being located a block from Meridian Hill Park, as well as close to restaurants in Adams Morgan and the Harris Teeter grocery store, it's a perfect combination. I'd recommend the building to others - although I will say, given the building's age, the floors do creak and are loud to walk on, in addition to the combo washer and dryer that is extremely aggressive. To that extent, the pros outweigh the cons in the building!
