Sometimes hard to get in contact for general help but in terms of maintenance the guy Tony is super responsive and great and for the price the place is pretty decent

I sublet this apartment from someone who lived in the unit for 5 years before I moved in. It had not been updated or maintained in years, which was fine because I was only paying $1275 for it monthly. The space itself is too awkward to fit everything you need, and most of the square footage comes from the staircase that hardly gets used and takes up most of the floor plan. When the building was purchased, we were promised to be moved into another unit so they could renovate the one we were in, asked us what we wanted in our unit during the renovations, and said we could move back in when they finished. A month before our lease ends, we were deciding if we would renew and they let us know rent will be $1500 for the same unit, with no renovations or offers to move us into a better unit. Plus, we were paying $50 for ALL utilities, but suddenly they tried to charge us for electricity- they sent a bill of over $300 and they threatened to add late fees if we didn’t pay- clearly going against my signed lease agreement. I would not pay $1500 for the unit as is, and the additional utilities charge was ridiculous. After I notified them that my lease clearly stated I pay $50 flat rate for all utilities, a week later we got a notice on our door saying we needed to be out of the unit in a month and they would not honor the offer to renew that they sent us a month before. Ultimately I would not have renewed my lease anyways- for $1500, this unit has no space, a disgusting basement laundry which is shared, and no amenities. Plus, I had been harassed by our homeless neighbors who have access to the yard at any time, since there is no security. For $300 more, I got a brand new unit with tons of amazing amenities in a better part of town and security. Also- don’t get me started on the water situation in Cap Hill. You need to have a Brita filter to get clean water. This building is not worth the price!
