We’ve lived at this apartment complex for about two years. Our first year in a one-bedroom, one-bath unit was actually fine—we didn’t have any major issues. However, things changed significantly when we transferred into a two-bedroom, two-bath unit.
Even during the leasing process for the new unit, there were multiple obstacles and delays, which in hindsight should have been a red flag. Unfortunately, due to my pregnancy at the time, we didn’t have much flexibility and went forward with the move.
Since moving into the two-bedroom unit, we’ve experienced ongoing and unresolved maintenance issues—most concerning being repeated HVAC leaks. This has happened multiple times, with water coming up through the floors and walls, sometimes creating visible pooling in our unit. We had a crawling baby at the time who is now walking, and having water on the floors has been a serious safety and health concern.
Despite reporting this issue several times, the problem has never been properly resolved—only temporarily addressed, as it continues to happen.
In addition:
- Our dishwasher frequently clogs and has never been replaced despite multiple complaints.
- Our refrigerator leaks, and management has dismissed it as user error instead of addressing the issue.
- Our car has been vandalized TWICE while living here. Some broke into our car and another instance wrote all over our car with sharpie!
- Many residents do not leash their dogs, and nothing is enforced, which adds to safety concerns.
Now, with the recurring HVAC issue causing visible damage to the unit (including flooring and baseboards), we are even more concerned about the condition of the apartment and potential long-term effects.
We have asked management to allow us to end our lease early without penalty due to these ongoing issues, but they have refused.
At this point, we are also worried about potential obstacles when it comes time to move out, given our experience so far.
I DO NOT recommend living here
