Westboro Apartments

As a resident of Westboro over the last two years, my experience has been lackluster. Ill start with the mounds of leftover drywall in our powder room that has been rendered unusable since mid 2023 when an issue from a neighboring apartment caused a ceiling leak and ultimate flooding of said bathroom. Although maintenance claimed they fixed the issue and would be back to clean up (years ago), there continues to be piles of dust and drywall, as well as no running water in the toilet. We did not reach out further after about two weeks since the incident, because it was not and is not our responsibility to clean the mess left by maintenance nor is it our responsibility to remind them of their projects. Additionally, for several weeks there has been construction starting at 10pm and going through the night directly outside the windows of those facing the tin angel building in buildings 200 and 210. The integrity of the apartment I have lived in itself has deteriorated with seemingly no cause, such as the faces of kitchen drawers falling off, the ceiling separating from the crown molding in the kitchen, and what looks like mold accumulating in the vents towards the back of the house over the last year. Since we moved in, we also realized more than half of our windows are sealed shut and unable to be opened. With all this being said, the price of rent continues to rise every year even though the amenities of the building are minimal and there is no efforts made to update apartments or the slim amount of amenities that are offered. I love the Westboro because of the prime location to my work and charm, but the upkeep of this historical building is sad.

The A/C is outdated and does not work. I have heard from the previous tenant of my unit that this issue was solved with window A/C unit. However that is a cheap and inconsiderate fix. The “storage closets” that are attached to other units is too thin and can hear noise if the storage door is open. The unit was filthy upon moving in, as if the only thing that was taken care of was a poor paint job.
