Pros:
1. General location is great.
2. Maintenance, when they show up, are great, professional, and quick.
Cons.
The apt is overpriced due to the following:
1. The unit's windows face the wall of the next building
2. There are two bars off of the alley that are extremely noisy late into the night, which makes it difficult to sleep.
3. The units have old appliances and carpeting, and are on the verge of breaking.
4. It is unclear if there is insulation in the wall shared with the hallway. Conversations can be heard from all adjoining apartments, as well as those across the hall.
5. The open parking lot is never plowed on time, and just got cameras
6. The trash/recycling area has a blown off gate, which was never locked in the first place. There are consistently piles of trash thrown out into the parking lot by unknown persons.
7. There are building alarms that go off all of the time and take hours to get turned off.
The biggest con:
The property manager; to name a few problems, she is:
- disrespectful
- incapable of remembering tenants
- repeatedly ignores direct requests/questions in written communication.
- careless with paperwork.
- actively is requiring illegal utility payments from the tenants in the building; even after legal action including a trial by judge, there are still problems with illegal utility billing.
- actively tells tenants that parking spots they are paying for are up for grabs with other tenants.
- promises repairs/plowing/etc. which are either not followed up on or are massively delayed.
- doesn't provide price lists for "amenities," ie. parking and basement storage cages, which is illegal.
- selectively charges for amenities after telling tenants they are free, and then belatedly starts charging.
