Union West

I've lived at this property for approximately four years, and overall I've had a very positive experience. I've really enjoyed both my apartment and the amenities the building has to offer. The pool is not heated unfortunately, but warms up by mid June. Plus side is they open the pool most of the time before Memorial day weekend and stays open as long as mid October(as long as it is 70+ outside). The location is incredibly convenient in the West Loop, with numerous restaurants, grocery stores, fitness studios, shopping, and other attractions all within walking distance. Public transportation is also easily accessible, which is a huge benefit. One of the highlights of living here has been the staff. They are consistently friendly, accommodating, and responsive, which has made my experience even better. My only suggestion for improvement would be regarding the weekend door attendants for the W Tower. I would love to see them provided with a proper front desk rather than having to sit off to the side near the entrance. From both a safety and professionalism standpoint, they deserve a dedicated workspace. It would also be nice to have more consistent, full-time door staff, similar to what is offered in the U Tower. Building relationships with familiar staff members and having someone regularly available to greet residents and provide access would be a valuable enhancement, especially considering the level of rent residents pay(as I'd imagine this is equal for both buildings). The Butterfly box is nice to be able to offer guests a key and to manually allow for food delivery services to be let up. Overall, the building is a quiet place to live, and I rarely hear my neighbors. Overall I've been very happy living here and would recommend it to anyone looking for a convenient, well-maintained community in the West Loop.

Most things have been great. My only very strong commentary would be about the lack of front desk operation in the W tower. When i started my lease herw there was a front desk available 24 hours to help with deliveries and security. And now there is no one and it makes things a lot more inconvenient. Its very upsetting. I work very long hours and im only renewing my lease because i dont have the time to go through the whole moving process again.
