Chestnut Tower Apartments

I really love the layout of my apartment. My neighbors are lovely. The location is wonderful. The staff is EXCELLENT in my building. They are responsive, timely, friendly. My unit is always quiet as well. I love the roof top grills. They always work!! The issues I have with my apartment are two. I live on the lowest floor, right above the garage. And my unit is always cold. Whatever the temperature is outside, that is the temp inside... even in the winter. Unfortunately the units on that specific floor don't have installation within the floors, and the open air garage is all concrete. The walls of my corner unit (great views) are also all concrete. I put plastic up on my windows to keep the heat in. I always have to run the heat. I have rugs everywhere because my unit has "hardwood" floors and the floor is always ice cold. Even the bathroom is cold. It's tough because I always need the heat on. The heat bill itself isn't astronomical! But it's sad that the room temp of the apt ranges from 59-65 in the fall and spring, the unit loses heat the minute the heat is not on. Secondly, rent is astronomical and there is no negotiating. My rent went up 10% and as a person who has a good job and simply wants to live alone in a nice place near work, this is getting out of hand. There haven't been enough upgrades to warrant a $250 a month rent increase. $3000 extra a year? It's not right. I understand building costs increase - but this level of increase is excessive.

I love living at Chestnut for its amazing location and the wonderful front desk staff: Greg, Shay, and Kiesha always go above and beyond. However, I do think the gym could use some improvements. Upgraded equipment and newer treadmills would make a big difference and really enhance the overall living experience.
