Belle Plaine offers a comforting neighborhood feel while being accessible to multiple city hubs, including Uptown, Ravenswood & Wrigleyville. The 15-mintue walk to the Red Line can be a hassle, but the LV-2 parking (through the alderperson's office) makes up for it ten-fold. The building is well-maintained and provides ample square-footage for its price. The kitchen has granite countertops and gas stoves, making cooking a upgraded experience. The washing machines could be better. I take my clothes out feeling as though they only got wet and not washed in there. To add on, one dryer does not dry my clothes fully, so I've stopped using it all-together. Finally, I'll add that our snow removal has been lazy this past year. After a fresh snow, it will take >36 hours before management has cleared our front stairs & walkway. It was just enough time for all the foot traffic to seal an inch of ice on the side walk. Desipte these opportunities for improvement, I am happy to live in this buiding and feel that my concerns are heard. It's a beautiful neighborhood and beautiful, historic building. Overall 8/10

I am very happy in this neighborhood and in this apartment. We have had some problems with the front door and it would be nice to have a range hood, but otherwise, living here has eased my stress about parking, safety, and noise (which I had had my old apartment). I appreciate the neighborhood comradery and all of the nearby transit, restaurants, parks, and stores.

Our apartment seemed quite nice when we moved in but after two years there its clear that a lot of the “nicer” things were done haphazardly. The plumbing is generally mediocre with out sinks needing maintenance on an almost monthly basis. One of our walls has a major crack in it. Towel holders in the bathroom fall out unexplanably. The neighborhood is quiet though and street parking is good.
