Retreat at Crosstown

This was by far the worst rental experience ever. Our upstairs neighbors had two small dogs and three cats (yes, that’s an excess of what’s allowed and yes, we reported it BUT nothing ever happened). The dogs would be left out on the balcony for entire days and barked at everything. The dogs were never walked and used the upstairs patio as a dog run which occasionally the neighbors would wash down resulting in animal feces raining down onto the patio. We reported this to the property manager multiple times including pictures and recordings but to no avail. Our entire guest bathroom and bedroom smelled like a liter box thanks to the odors from upstairs eventually rendering the space uninhabitable. Each time we opened a ticket or addressed concerns the manager would “take action” and yet when we moved out nothing changed and things had actually gotten worse. The pictures of the property are very misleading too. Our bathroom tubs were peeling from when we moved in (a repair they never got around to) and most repairs were the cheapest laziest possible if repairs were even done at all (our upstairs neighbors flooded the kitchen and the ceiling was left with water bulges and marks) which were never fixed but did ironically result in my receiving a call about maintenance I had in my apartment discovering I was in violation of my lease due to the number of animals I had(which I advised was actually the tenant upstairs not me and something I’d reported many times). We were promised that things would be taken care of but they never were. The common areas are not well maintained: the dog park has no grass and is essentially a sandbox full of poop which continues to get worse because no one cleans up after their animals, garbage is left everywhere, and you’ll often find building materials and other “maintenance trash” just left for days. The complex has had a fire and multiple break-ins once of nearly a dozen vehicles (maybe if the gate was actually working it would help).
