The best part of living at Halogen has been our friendly neighbors. My review would be 5 stars except for one major issue: the pickleball court noise is excessive. The repetitive impact sound, every day, carries directly into our unit due to poor sound insulation, making it difficult to concentrate on work or even to sleep. Quiet hours begin at 10pm, yet play often continues right up to or past that time, and enforcement is inconsistent- I called tonight and reached patrol voicemail. When I emailed the office, I was told to call patrol; but that does not address the underlying sound issue. Solutions such as sound-dampening fencing or requiring quieter paddles/balls, which other complexes have implemented, have not been pursued. White noise machines and noise-canceling headphones have not helped. For us, this will likely determine whether we renew our lease. If you’re not sensitive to noise, it may be a great fit; but for those who value quiet afternoons and evenings, this is something to seriously consider. I will happily change this review to 5 stars if something is done to improve the situation. Again I have already reached out to the leasing office and their suggestion was to call patrol, so improvement would mean doing something to address the noise itself - installing soundproofing panels, etc. Edit: removing a star because nothing has been done about this.
