What to know about renting in Boca Raton?

Florida Law ensures rights and protections to renters in the city, which specifically refer to circumstances in which the tenant suffers undue hardship due to the landlord’s neglect. In the event that a landlord fails to correct property deficiencies that pose a risk, the tenant has the right to withhold rent. Before this happens, a tenant is obliged to give the landlord seven days’ written notice to make the necessary repairs. If the landlord ignores this notice, then tenants can approach the court to request permission to apply for the withholding of rental payment. It’s important for the tenant to preserve the withheld funds. Otherwise, they may be evicted for non-payment.
