Traxx Apartments

I have very few complaints living here. Moved in at the end of last year- the building is pretty quiet, the staff are friendly if not particularly communicative, and the location is truly *chef's kiss*. <5 min walk to the transit station, 30 min train ride to downtown Seattle (or 15 min drive if you time the "no traffic" times perfectly...which is a rarity), decent walkability in the Gateway neighborhood. It's lovely living so close to the city while still being able to open all your windows at night and have QUIET aside from the car racing of course, but that's anywhere in this area. A few caveats: -Parking costs are truly absurd, and there's no visitor parking. They have to use street, retail or transit garage space. -Sound-proofing is good between walls, not so great between floors. I can hear when the apartment above me is showing to a family with a young kid(s) because they inevitable run from one end to the other, and I can only beg every deity ever to exist that they choose not to rent here (partly my fault, I choose to live in a 2bd as a single person with no kids so you may have better luck in a single bd space). -When people let their doors slam (which admittedly, they are "grabbed" by the air if you don't manually close them gently but COME ON PEOPLE GET IT TOGETHER) the entire area of the building shakes slightly. Makes my cat jumpy for a solid hour. Yes, the units are expensive, we're paying a premium for this wildly convenient transit access. Maintenance isn't very quick, I had to close off a bedroom for 3 days for a smoke detector that wouldn't quit chirping AFTER I changed the battery because apparently that isn't a priority. They are friendly though. Overall I'm really happy here and would recommend it if you can deal with the above.

Unfortunately, I found that Kaylee's attentiveness was lacking during my stay, which led to a few inconveniences. Specifically, her parking penalty ticket error situation, or lack of communication. Additionally, I was disappointed by an interaction with the maintenance staff. Given these issues, I’m unsure about continuing my stay long term unless I see improvements in staff service and professionalism.
