I'm glad I chose Six Oaks. It's necessary to get a parking spot - I wanted to live here a few years ago but went with another location when I discovered there wouldn't be parking available. However, with the parking it's great. Reasonable prices, good gym facility, stylish, large, well-designed apartments, and a bocce court! I never hear my neighbors - with the exception of the people who live above me. They run around late at night and sometimes it sounds like they're in my apartment because it's so loud. Odd that the sound insulation is so good on all sides except the floor above.
In addition, the proximity to both the senior living facility next door and the police station across the street means A LOT of sirens. Many throughout the day. So, I suppose noise is the worst complaint, but I'm pretty sensitive and I consider it livable. Not a deal breaker for me.
One thing I will say is I've been here from November to May, so not the hottest months and I can't confirm how hot it gets in the apartment units. There is no A/C so I'll see what I'm in for come summertime. It stayed pretty warm through the winter even without the heat on - not sure if that's a good sign or a bad one. Could get a window unit or portable A/C but hoping to skip both if possible.
All in all, I recommend Six Oaks to folks who want a safe, affordable apartment in a good neighborhood - as long as a little noise is okay for you and you can get a parking spot. I looked at all the apartments in downtown Bothell and I felt Six Oaks had the biggest cost to value ratio. So far, I think that holds true,
