The Arden

There are a lot of great aspects to this complex and I lucked into a great unit at just the right time. Everything regarding applying, signing paperwork, and *especially* moving in has been far, far more difficult, frustrating and expensive than it should have been. Whether due to gaps in procedure/management or specific individuals, I do not know, but my experience has been unnecessarily stressful: - Information: I have to ask the same question repeatedly before getting a relevant answer, no matter how clear and concise I try to be. Accuracy of these answers has been 50/50. I either continue prying or give up if I no longer have the energy. This has been consistent since the application process. - Maintenance: The maintenance folks themselves have all been great. Getting my requests *to* maintenance has been frustrating. Some still-outstanding issues were reported immediately upon move-in and either closed or lost, despite discussing directly with office staff. - Communication: I planned/budgeted my move to be as stress-free as possible. When I arrived with movers, the building elevator out of service. No notification whatsoever and the office had just closed for the weekend. After-hours maintenance confirmed it had been OoS for days with no ETA for repair. A few days later, the office confirmed they do not inform residents when a major building utility is OoS, which is beyond insane to me. Suddenly, the movers cost 3x the original price for 4 flights of stairs. I had to settle paying 2x the cost of movers to suddenly take everything I own elsewhere *and* scramble to find and pay for a storage unit. Add the cost of later renting a moving truck, then aggravating existing back pain issues carrying necessary boxes up 4 flights of stairs by myself. 1.5 months in, the total moving costs have tripled, am much further in debt, still in lots of pain, not fully moved-in/unpacked, and still have outstanding maintenance issues, all due to poor communication from
