After living at Mill23 at Coughlin Crossing for nearly two years, we can honestly say that our experience has changed drastically over time. When we first moved in, management was welcoming, responsive, and enjoyable to work with. Unfortunately, that is no longer the case.
While the apartments are aesthetically beautiful with great natural lighting, high ceilings, spacious kitchens, and a convenient location, the quality of construction and overall resident experience leave a lot to be desired.
One of the biggest ongoing issues has been the extremely poor insulation and inefficient heating systems. It is very obvious these apartments were built quickly and cheaply. Doors are not properly sealed, cold air comes through entry and patio doors, and many residents have experienced outrageous electric bills during winter months. Despite keeping thermostats at conservative temperatures, electric bills still skyrocketed. For a 900sqft apartment the bills should not be more than some friend I have that live in 5 bedroom homes.
After speaking directly with the electric company, we were informed that the furnace system itself contributes heavily to the excessive energy usage. Maintenance attempted repairs multiple times, including adding weather stripping, but cold air issues continued to persist.
The sound insulation is equally concerning. Noise between floors is excessive to the point where we can hear conversations, coughing, sneezing, footsteps, and even intimate moments from surrounding apartments. For a newer and more expensive apartment complex, this level of sound transfer is unacceptable.
To add to this I have had an ongoing insect problem due to the surrounding undeveloped land and being on the first floor, I get spiders, ants, beetles you name it! Water bills are also unusually high compared to similar apartment communities.
A lot was originally done poorly moving in; our doors wouldn’t shut properly, the carpets were creeping up in corners, and
