This space is ideal for commuters into the city or those who enjoy a walkable town. I’ve lived here for three years, and while the noise from neighbors doesn’t bother me, I can hear everyone in the hallway and the residents next door. The proximity to a police and fire station contributes to the noise and the occasional car playing music. However, the noise from outside can be heard inside the apartment due to its location. Parking is a challenge. There’s no parking or designated spaces within the complex. You’ll need to obtain a 9-hour parking permit from the township and an overnight permit to park in the lot behind the complex. Since there’s no free street parking, you’re committed to this arrangement. The police enforce parking meters and ensure compliance with parking guidelines, and they’ll ticket you if you don’t. On the bright side, there are several gyms nearby. Cranford Fit is an affordable option for this building, and it’s never crowded. They offer personal training, but you’re not locked into any deals. Augusta Mae is a great and friendly boutique behind the building, and there’s also Dominic’s Deli. The owners are very friendly, warm, and welcoming to the neighborhood. Cranford offers a variety of great places to eat and shop. If you prefer convenience, there are doctors’ offices, chiropractic, dental, and eye care facilities around town that are excellent options. Especially for younger parents or those with children, having these services close by is convenient. Overall, I love living here. The rent does increase by 5% annually, but the building is old, so unless you move into a renovated apartment, you’ll expect things to break frequently. However, the neighbors are all wonderful people, very friendly, welcoming, and kind.
