I’ve lived here 5 years and it’s a senior property, 55+ but the management and apartments are not set-up for the needs of seniors. The toilets are too low and the tubs are too high. The walls are very thin. You can hear people snoring, using the toilet, taking a shower and personal conversations, pets barking…
It’s “Affordable Housing” but they keep going up every year. So since I moved in my rent has increased over $230 in 5 years without any increased amenities. So it’s “Not so Affordable Housing”. We formed a tenant’s association to help with some of our concerns and the regional mgr. maureen s., refuses to speak with us. She promises she will and then reneges.
You would do better to find “Affordable Housing” that is not privately owned by Ingerman but rather under HUD or a non-profit agency. That will make a big difference in your rate increases. Especially with what is going on in the world right now. We have some HVAC concerns too. The heating and air conditioning units should be cleaned twice a year according to the specs but they don’t feel the need to do it unless it breaks or malfunctions. This puts our seniors health at risk. There are some really nice neighbors who live here and help each other. We look out for each other. It’s not all bad. They present nice programs to benefit the residents like, Kat from the Gardens in Monroe, who comes in and does Bingo and Arts & Crafts with us. That’s a big hit and she’s a lovely person. NJ Dept. of Aging comes in and talks about Healthcare and other groups and organizations. We have a yearly Christmas party… so just be well informed.
Maintenance is lacking considerably and that’s all I’m going to say about that.
