Regatta at Universal

It was a dream to live in this complex since I first moved to Orlando. And now I have!! Let me tell you, since Day 1, it’s been a total nightmare. Kris in the front office is condescending and lacks empathy. My day before moving in, I called to verify everything was good to go and times and all. Day of move in, I get told be Kris my move in time has been delayed from the 1pm to 4:30pm. When I said it was extremely inconvenient, his response was “it’s only a few hours, it shouldn’t be a big deal”. Like what is that? I’m very ocd so I have things planned out to the time. My whole move schedule was thrown and I get told it shouldn’t even matter?? Rude. The apartment itself just feels cheaply made. So much sound comes in from the walls it’s hard to believe there’s any insulation or craftsmanship that when into it. Our lights were covered in some black residue that the complex just painted over and said it should be fine. It looked like mold or residue from a fire. We weren’t told about either. This complex is not very pet friendly. There’s a “dog park” in the corner of the complex next to the dumpster. It’s enough room for like 2 big dogs. Maybe. There’s dog waste everywhere you walk. Not really the residents fault because there are very few doggy bag trash areas and they’re all on the outside of the parking lot. Other residents dogs aren’t friendly, as I’ve been told by their owners. Dogs will be out without leashes. And even if they bite at you or scratch you, Zara in the office will tell you it’s just a dog and not a big deal. No one here has heard the words anxiety or mental illness before. That’s clear. There are kids screaming around the whole complex, everyday, all day. Everyone in the office has stated that kids has free reign over the complex and can run and play and scream wherever they want, as loud as they want, for as long as they want, as long as it’s not quiet hours. The whole complex feels like a madhouse.

Since a new manager came in there have been an increase on communication and community building that the last management lacked. While there has been some work done around the community, it has actually been to improve it for the residents instead of seeming like they were saving money. Ziara’s management makes me excited for the future of this community instead of dread it. I have loved the little events but because of my hours I am unable to attend them as they are wrapping up right as I get home.
