The Villas at Kearny Mesa

I have lived at Villas at Kearny Mesa since 2021. I’ve always had a positive experience. I love my unit, the pool, the grounds are always kept up and the property is convenient to so much. If I had any complaint, it was that we’ve had inconsistent management - we’ve seen property managers come and go, and likely for good reason. Our maintenance supervisor and porter have been consistently outstanding regardless of the property manager - professional, hardworking and very passionate about helping people and making the property perfect. This summer, we were blessed with our new property manager, Darlene. She goes above and beyond in every way — professional, kind, and genuinely invested in making sure residents feel at home. She has created an environment where residents, including myself, have felt comfortable bringing up concerns or ideas that we previously wouldn’t have bothered. Residents are actually going into the leasing office, mostly to just say hi, grab a piece of candy or a treat for their dog. Darlene made my lease renewal seamless this year, which hadn’t historically been the case. Darlene is always responsive and proactive. Whether it’s handling maintenance requests, coordinating upgrades to the property, or simply checking in to make sure everything’s going smoothly, she approaches everything with care and efficiency. What really stands out is how personable she is — she knows residents by name, remembers details, and truly creates a welcoming, community feel. Her influence on the complex environment is palpable. In a world where great management is rare, Darlene is the kind of property manager who raises the bar. Her organization, communication, and warmth make VKM not just a place to live, but a place to belong. I can’t say enough good things about her professionalism and dedication. She’s the reason I’d highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a great living experience. Everything else is a bonus!

I moved here just a few months ago. The property is beautiful. Plenty of seating out by the pool with a patio next to it and grills, the pool goes to 7ft. Fitness center is also very nice. Has all your basics that you may need and is never too crowded. Friendly staff - especially Ollie. Always quick to reach out and help!
