I rarely leave reviews, but I wish someone had warned me before I signed a lease here.
The apartment looked like a great place based on the photos and pricing, but the reality was very different. When we moved in, the apartment was far from clean. There was built-up dirt and grime throughout the kitchen, including underneath the stove and refrigerator, and we ended up spending hours cleaning it ourselves after management chose not to send anyone out. We also found mold, which was one of the biggest concerns during our stay.
The washers and dryers are also much smaller than expected, making laundry inconvenient if you have anything more than a small load.
The most frustrating part was moving out. Despite paying a $600 security deposit and leaving the apartment in far better condition than we received it, we were charged enough that none of our deposit was returned. After seeing the condition of the apartment when we moved in, it was hard to understand how those charges were justified.
The leasing staff was generally friendly, but that doesn't make up for the overall experience. Between the misleading photos, lack of cleanliness, mold concerns, small laundry machines, and disappointing move-out process, I can't recommend La Jolla Blue to anyone looking for a place to live.
