I had a very disappointing experience with Beach Front Property Management and would strongly caution others considering renting from them.
From the start, there were serious issues with basic tenant rights. After moving in, I was not provided a key to my mailbox for several weeks. This was only resolved after I threatened legal action, as withholding access to mail is a serious issue.
Maintenance and unit readiness were also handled poorly. The apartment was not properly cleaned before I took possession, yet I was still charged a $295 cleaning fee when I moved out. It was only after I disputed the fee that it was finally returned to me. Additionally, the dishwasher was broken upon move-in and took well over a month to be replaced. Multiple issues identified during my initial walkthrough were never addressed.
Communication was inconsistent and frustrating. Management would selectively respond to messages while ignoring others entirely, and maintenance requests were sometimes closed out without explanation.
There was also a significant lack of transparency regarding fees. Before moving in, I was quoted a specific pet policy ($500 deposit + $50/month). However, when I added my pet a few months later, management claimed the policy had changed to $95/month with no deposit. Most concerningly, their active listings for other units in the same building continued to advertise the original, lower rates I was initially quoted, making the 'policy change' feel like a targeted price hike.
Finally, there were multiple instances where management failed to provide legally compliant notice of entry. They used vague and overly broad timeframes instead of specifying a clear date and reasonable entry window as required under California law.
Overall, this company demonstrated a lack of professionalism, poor communication, and disregard for tenant rights. I would not recommend renting from them.
