Brampton is a city in the province of Ontario. It is located in the Greater Toronto Area between the cities of Mississauga, Caledon and Vaughan. It has been called “The Flower Town of Canada” because of the greenhouse industry in the city. It is the ninth largest city in Canada,population of many different ethnicities. Real estate in Brampton is in high demand and the market is quite similar to Toronto’s market. The housing prices in the city have been experiencing rapid growth. The city has a bus system operated by Brampton Transit This bus system connects to similarsystems in other nearby cities, such as Toronto and Mississauga. The city also has a Bus Rapid Transit service called Züm. For individuals living with a disability, there are bus routes that accommodate disabled people, provided by Brampton Transit. For national and international travel, the Toronto Pearson International Airport is located close to Brampton, in the neighbouring city of Mississauga. Cycling is another way to get around the city, as Brampton has both designated bike lanes, and a network of paths and trails.
Schools
The two English language school boards in the city are the Peel District School Board and the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board which operates the Catholic English schools. There are also two French language school boards in the city called Conseil scolaireViamonde and Conseil scolaire de district Catholique Centre-Sud,whichoperates the French Catholic schools in the area. For students looking to attend a post-secondary institution, there are two options in the city:Algoma University at Brampton and Sheridan College. There are also other options close by such as the University of Toronto, Humber College and CIMT College Malton Campus.
Family Life
There is plenty of fun for the whole family in Brampton. The city has many splash pads all around for kids to play during summer. There are also events that the whole family can enjoy, such as watching a movie outside at night at various locations around the city, or attending a children’s concert. Dogsledding is a unique and entertaining activity during winter. The City of Brampton also offers programs for children,in which they can enroll according to their interests.
