We love living at the Montgomery. Most of the management and service staff are top notch. The facilities are good but sometimes the consumables are not replaced frequently enough (sanitizer in gym, paper and ink for the printer in the business centre). Having lived here almost 9 months, in two different units, the refurbishment of the units could be done better and a lot more quickly. We are still waiting for kitchen deficiencies to be remedied in our current unit, almost 4 months after moving in. We had similar experience with our previous unit. Quality of the refurbishment should be the top priority and done in a reasonable timeframe (not months after being identified). Maintenance of the common area on the residence floors needs more frequent attention to make sure the building doesn't look unkept (once a year refresh is not satisfactory). Otherwise, the overall quality of the building will decline and it will be difficult to attract new renters for the current prices, given increased competition (both new and old) in the area.
Another irritant is the frequency of garbage shoot shut down, whether or not its resident-caused or normal maintenance. Notification of normal maintenance times would be helpful.
The convenience and ambiance of the neighborhood is outstanding, close to public transit, grocery and retail shopping as well as healthcare practitioners. i.e. great walking score
