I have been living in a First Key Homes property for 5+ years.
The worst part about the company is how hands off they are. You will never have an actual property manager or anyone who you can reach out to for answers. You are directed to an app with no updates or can call an overseas call center that does not have any answers for you.
The first few years I was here everything was described as “growing pains” while they expanded their company and sometimes dropped the ball on maintenance requests.
Things have changed in the past few years and the more properties they buy, the greedier they get. They want tenants to pay for things that are the company’s responsibilty.
I used to recommend them to friends but I will never do that again. They charge higher rent prices than other companies in the area, constantly drop the ball for maintenance, and truly don’t care about you in any way.
With all the money that I have paid to them in these past 5 years with not even one single late payment or issue besides normal wear and tear of their home, I’m pretty disgusted with the company overall.
I still have a year left on my lease and after reading the thousands of negative reviews about the move out process and the extra fees they charge, I’m already mentally preparing for it.
