Pros: location, price & employees.
Cons: We moved in February and then it snowed. We noticed a leak from the ceiling in our bedroom closet. We reported this to Shadow Oaks and after multiple visits of them “fixing the hole” it turned into two giant holes in the ceiling that leaked buckets of water from April 21st – until around May 31st when it was finally repaired. When they came to work on this they cut a hole in the ceiling but didn't move our clothes or ask us to move them, got fiberglass in our clothes/shoes and everything in the closet. They got dirt and paint chippings all over our items in the closet as well. The roofers also left trash, nails, and debris outside. They tracked mud through the entire house. They left and did not sweep or clean up anything. This is just the beginning. The air-conditioning unit continued to go out and proceeded to leak and pour water downtown stairs that did ruin our items. The refrigerator began to leak and pour water out that did ruined our personal items. The downstairs toilet began to leak and pour out water from the bottom of it and left puddles of water downstairs. The floorboards would squish out water from the cracks when we stepped on them from all of the water damage. There is also the insane number of ants and spiders in this townhouse no matter how much we clean or spray. Lastly, the cherry on top. The wiring in the townhouse does not work well at all. Our internet went out every single day and we had to switch routers multiple times.
We have only been here for SIX months. We have had continuous problems with this establishment almost every single week. We were forgiving, patient, and understanding… When I addressed all of this to the General Manager, told him we need to break our lease, and asked if he would be able to help us out with the terms of our agreement – He did nothing. I would NEVER rent an apartment or a townhome from these people. It is NOT worth it. We have to break the lease to survive.
