Blue Star Arts Complex

Experience living at Blue Star has been great so far. I love living downtown and really embrace all of the charm that living downtown has to offer. Michael and the staff are amazing and are always available to answer my questions. Maintenance is quick to respond to all of my tickets and I love that they are so proactive about things like pest control and changing filters. Overall it's been a great experience

I've lived at the Blue Star for 1.5 years and love it. Staff is great, has fixed things quickly. I love being in the heart of walkable funky Southtown. Compared to other luxury complexes this place is no frills - something I think is reflected in the price. I have an amazing location and pay a little less than friends who live in fancier places downtown. Just no pool or common space or parking garage or valet trash. To me that's a fair trade. The building is older but unique with high ceilings and open layouts. My appliances are new, though I think that varies between units. There's a nice laundry room and laundry hookups in unit. I've never had a problem with parking. Access to the river is unbeatable. Utilities are a little funky (split with commercial units). Train noise varies by unit, but doesn't bother me from the tall building facing the river.

My husband and I have lived at Blue Star for 3 years now, and we love many things about it--most importantly, its location. It's close to lots of bars and restaurants, the downtown grocery store, and the SA river. While it doesn't come with the amenities of big apartment complexes, the location makes up for much of that. And while it's a great location, our apartment building still feels quiet and calm enough (save for First Fridays). Finally, while there isn't space for many amenities, there aren't any electric car chargers on site, which I hope they will add in the near future.
