Former Resident

Prior to the new manager, I felt the Monarch was a warm place to call home that cared about its residents and really tried to be the best and highest example of condo living. With the new manager that standard has declined dramatically. The cleanliness of the building has declined sharply. The trash shoots never work. Resident are met with a barrage of emails about "rules" that aren't in the lease or promulgated anywhere. Most recently guest parking was removed, making it almost impossible or at a minimum very cumbersome to have vendors or guests visit. Rules about how long you can temporarily park in front. Threats of being towed. In the end, my ac unit was barely working because they didn't routinely change ac filters. Attention to small details indicates how they treat the big details. Anytime a resident wants to discuss an issue, they are met with hostility from the manager and a series of documentary emails. We are treated like the enemy which makes our HOME not feel much like a home. The prior managers were exactly the opposite of that feeling - a warm vibe that made you want to be there. This guy, no. He makes me want to run away. And upper levels won't change it. So it persists. And the high level of turnover persists. I suspect the high turnover is to the benefit of management though because it allows them to raise rates from the initial move-in specials given a year + ago, so they are fine with it. I wish someone there cared more about any of this because the Monarch used to be a great place to live. Now it just feels like an asylum.
