We moved in several months ago after eyeballing the property for several years. We have a school-age child and he had lots of friends here! The people are nice and welcoming, the manager is helpful and patient, and she tries to engage the community with donation opportunities and community dinners/get-togethers.
The community is wonderful and I have zero complaints. There are a couple things that I personally think would help make this community even better, though: use some of the green space in between the buildings to create a free community garden for seasonal fruits/veggies (to help teach the children here how to garden, responsibility, plus it wpuld help people when money gets tight); expanding to add some swings to the playground- and adding the gate closure back to the playground itself; adding bike racks outside somewhere that the kids could chain their bikes up rather than carrying them up and down the stairs; and potentially adding some fencing to the playground that would extend the area beside it to provide a running area for dogs that usually have to be on a leash.
I am more than happy to volunteer to help with any of those projects, write a letter for grant money to fund it if that's what is needed, garner resident support, etc.
