Pros:
Location - plenty of shops, restaurants, close to transit
Cost - very reasonable rent, low electric bill, free street parking
Amenities - so many things to do but rarely used. The lobby usually has people visiting each other & there is free coffee.
Maintenance - easy to submit request, building is starting to show its age
Cons:
Location - you hear all the street noise (sirens, transit, vehicles), there are homeless in the area
Parking - the parking garage has less spots then apartments so you are lucky to get one and the waitlist is LONG. Street parking is nearly nonexistent. There are apartments everywhere so parking is cutthroat. If you park directly across the street you either walk across the tracks or walk a block up, cross at the light, walk a block back. More often I find parking on 108th then I have to walk to 105th.
Security - not great but not bad. You use a key fob to access the building, mail room, amenities, and elevator to your floor. However, one of the outer doors does not always latch so you find non-residents (NR) wandering around trying to find their friend, residents opening doors for NRs, NRs following residents into the building and into the elevator. Once into the elevator NRs have access to any floor a resident goes to, the parking garage & vehicles (but cannot leave unless they follow a resident to get back on the elevator or a vehicle opens the garage door).
The apartments are somewhat ADA compliant, my apt has wide hallways & door entrances, raised bathroom sink with wheelchair opening but the faucet has small handles, most lights have the typical on/off switches but the rms with fans have a small slide button, apt dr has peephole but at regular height, fridge has upper freezer instead of lower drawer. But this is just my apt.
Overall it’s a nice place with kind residents, safe-ish location, easy access to transit, attentive on-site management during business hours, fantastic underground parking garage, and plenty of amenities.
