Sheridan Square Apartments

Unfortunately, the quality of living illustrated on their website is awfully deceptive. For instance, my apartment’s HVAC filter hadn’t been cleaned in what looked like years. This caused allergy problems for my girlfriend. Instead of changing it, the cover was permanently attached to the wall so nobody would suspect it could be changed. Also, the carpet was absolutely filthy, it contained pet hair accumulated over several different residents. To this day I’m still pulling out pet hair. The guest bedroom was missing door panels and the floor panels were coming up. To top it all off, the rules on pets are extremely unreasonable. I paid 2 pet deposits (750$) despite only ever having one dog at any given time living in the apartment. I was told that because I replaced my old dog I needed to make another deposit. If I could do it all over again I’d go right across the street to Bristol Apartments. They’re far more modern, secure, accommodating, and comparable in rent.

The office staff are great, professional ladies, always willing to help where they can. Manager has been extremely understanding and helpful when I've had to pay rent late, they don't make me feel like a louse when it happens. I've only met one maintenance guy and he was very polite, pretty prompt with repairs I've needed. I usually always get an upstairs apartment and I'm suffering the consequences of settling for one downstairs. I've had to actually address the upstairs neighbor one night at 230am regarding my ceiling sounding like it was going to cave in from their stomping. I suffer all throughout the day on weekends and weekday evenings with the stomping. I also come home frequently from work with my apartment wreaking with the smell of marijuana, so strong that it makes me want physically ill. The parking is terrible, there are a couple of people that park over the line or too crooked and well, who can or wants to squeeze in next to them. One evening recently I couldn't find a single parking space near my building, not one space. I had to park on the other side of the complex. Highly inconvenient. This is a prime location because you're close to everything. A straight shot down Sheridan and I'm at work, I love that! Unfortunately, I will be looking elsewhere when my lease comes to end because the cons out-weigh the pros of living here.
