Woodmont Forge at Hopewell

Overall my first 50 days have been mostly enjoyable. The one issue that is uncomfortable is the noise above my apartment. The person above walks rather aggressively at times. For the most part during normal hours it is something I can deal with. At the same time, after 10 pm it is not something I want to deal with as I need to be asleep by 10 pm as I rise at 5:30 am. Adequate sleep is non-negotiable. I have written a note to this individual who answered and was able to be more mindful for a while. Yet, the consistency is not there and very frustrating.

Once your become a resident, they stop caring about you or answering your calls. The communication about things happening right outside your window is essentially nothing. They don’t think ahead or plan things properly. No one is going the extra mile or even doing the average job. The package room is always a mess and you’ll never receive a code for your package. It essentially just looks really nice but everything else isn’t great. The cameras don’t work, the key fob entries aren’t always working (sometimes you have to stand there scanning for a minute), the washer and dryer almost always have issues (talked to multiple other residents that also experienced this). It’s like the actual building itself is nice, but all the “luxurious” items are subpar. They very clearly don’t care about dogs, with there being hazards in the grass (i.e. mushrooms, fertilizers), they rarely have poop bags refilled, and they allow aggressive dogs to live here (let me be very clear in saying DOGS, not breeds. I do not believe that breed matters more than temperament, unlike the management here). The management team also doesn’t take noise complaints seriously, they just essentially tell you there’s nothing that can be done. If it weren’t for the price, it wouldn’t be an issue. But for what you pay to live here is just simply not worth it.

Since moving into this apartment, I've unfortunately encountered several disappointments. One of the major issues is the noise level. The building is right next to the busy 295 highway, and the traffic noise is constant, day and night. Even with the windows closed, the sound of cars zooming by makes it difficult to relax or get a good night's sleep. Additionally, there's an airport nearby, which adds to the noise—something to keep in mind if you're seeking a quiet home environment. Another concern is the lack of enforcement of what I assumed was a "move-in time" rule. I've witnessed residents moving in during the middle of the night. I contacted after-hours emergency services, but no one responded. The trucks and movers were loud and inconsiderate, with some vehicles coming dangerously close to ours while backing up. While I enjoy using the gym, there’s been an issue with residents playing the TVs at an unreasonably high volume—up to decibel 52, according to the display. When I asked them to turn it down, they made a small adjustment but continued to play it loudly. I believe it would be helpful if an email reminder about community rules is sent out, particularly regarding gym etiquette. Residents should use earphones for personal music, and I hope these concerns can be addressed soon. Thank you.
