84-86 Astor Street

We’re writing as longtime tenants of 84-86 Astor Street who feel deeply let down by the decisions made over the past year. Toward the end of 2023, we were told the parking lot would be updated with a motorized gate—a welcome improvement that many of us were looking forward to. We were asked to move our cars, and although it was inconvenient, we did so, trusting that it was temporary and that our parking spaces would be returned to us. Instead, what followed was something none of us were prepared for. Without meaningful notice, construction began on a brand-new apartment complex where the parking lot once stood. As a result, many of us lost not just our parking—but also the open space and sunlight that used to make our homes feel warm and livable. It was just disappointing that what brought us here, is now gone.

My experience living here is fine. The only things I have to compleain about is the speed in which the parking lot gate operates, I believe it is time to upgrade/update the parking lot gate. The response time for maintenance request is poor, but eventually it gets addressed. Overall rating of my time being here is 7.5/10.

My experience here has been excellent. The fellow tenants sharing the building have been nice and friendly. I believe I have the best possible location because of the distance from the Newark Train station and International Airport. I love how the apartment has been renovated and upgraded to a luxury style looking apartment.

My experience living here has been calm and great. To be honest, I have no problems with the apartment complex. We have been having issues where someone in the apartment building stole one of our packages and opened it. I believe better security or security cameras within the apartment complex would make receiving packages easier and more comfortable for everyone living here. At times, there is drug addicts congregating outside in front of the apartment complex, where they are sitting, standing and/or blocking the front entrance to the apartment. Overall, I can't really complain other than what I stated above.
