It is -13 F outside currently and my heating is broken. Maintenace responded to my request to fix the heating relatively urgently, first thing in the morning at 8 AM. Since then, I've noticed no change in temperature in the unit and it has been 4 hours...I wish I was exaggerating. It seemed like it was working for the first half hour or so, but shortly after that I noticed it slowing down again. I submitted another maintenance request and the property management called to try and explain that it take a couple hours for it to warm up. It has been 4 hours and it is still the same temperature now as it was when maintenance "fixed" it. I understand it can take a while for my unit get fully up to temperature, but I would have expected some positive change by now. When I put my hand on the radiator, it feels super weak, and another one on the opposite side of the same room barely feels like it is on at all. Despite me not being one to normally complain, despite it being the middle of winter, despite them having to service another unit in this building literally yesterday, management will not take my complaint seriously and insisted that I "have a nice day". Well, I sure would like to -it would make it easier to "have a nice day" if I didn't have to consider going out to my car and sitting in it just to get some heat. If you plan to stay here, I strongly recommend bringing space heaters and blankets because you will probably need them.
