Ann Arbor Woods

Signed lease on a one bedroom in late June 2023 and officially moved in August 2023. (It is now November 2023) I don't drive so parking is not an issue for me, but it seems good from my perspective. The bus route #64 is very convenient for getting to campus as a UM student but is only available during morning and evening commuting windows, so outside of those periods the bus route #4 is a bit more of a walk but is still convenient (less than or about a 10 min walk) and comes frequently. The rent is a good deal for Ann Arbor from my perspective. It being pet friendly with lots of nearby paths to walk my dog which include poop bags and disposal bins is a big advantage. Neighbors I've interacted with are nice, lots of people walk their dogs in this area. My apartment is one of the renovated ones, so the appliances are new and work well (with the exception of the new yet... subpar dishwasher) and there is lots of storage, but it is clear that they were quite lazy in completing a few aspects of the renovation. I really appreciate that the laundry utilities are kept clean consistently despite the basement they're housed in being in... less than great repair. Laundry utilities are also paid for and managed on an app which works pretty well for me. The maintenance staff seem quite nice from what I've seen, but some of the folks in the leasing office can be hit or miss on their attitude and willingness to help. One agent was distinctly unhelpful and did not accurately inform us on the available units but the property manager did end up remedying that after we came in again later. Once my application had been approved everything went smoothly and was managed digitally but the process of applying was stressful due to a lack of communication about the time their ID verification system should take. Overall, I would recommend living here.
