Overall, my experience living at Canvas Apartments has been fair. Most of the staff members are polite and respectful. However, Ms. Betty has continuously been rude and condescending toward both me and other residents in regard to rent, lockouts, and parking. All in which I have emailed countless times as well as went to the leasing office to express my concern.
Additionally, the upkeep of the 5th floor has noticeably declined. The carpet is stained, the walls are covered with marks, and trash and trash bins are frequently left in the hallways despite multiple emails being sent to property management regarding these concerns.
Parking for visitors should be free, especially since the gate is consistently broken, creating both inconvenience and safety concerns. My apartment door is also damaged, and despite requesting paint repairs three separate times, maintenance continues to state that they do not have the correct paint available.
The lockout fee is unreasonable, and residents should be provided with two key fobs at move-in, or at minimum have the option to add the cost into the rent with the purchase of an additional key fob. I was told by Ms. Betty I could not purchase an addition
I would appreciate a response regarding how management plans to address these concerns and improve the living conditions for residents. Specifically, I would like updates regarding the condition of the 5th floor, repair of the parking gate, maintenance for my apartment door, and reconsideration of resident policies regarding key fobs and lockout fees. As well as response or an update on the apartment building being used as an Airbnb without current residents' knowledge.
As a resident who pays rent on time and expected a certain standard of living in a newer building, I hope these issues will be taken seriously and resolved promptly.
