I have lived here for 1 year, in a 1 bedroom 1 bath in building E. I pay ~$1600 for rent. This is my honest review. I provide a bullet point list, followed by a description of my experience:
Pros:
- coffee shop near by
- walking distance to river
- cool view of the cliffs when outside
- can rent bikes and paddle boards for free
- nice and modern apartments with big windows
- 1 - 2 months free on rent, depending on contract length
Cons:
- dishonest staff
- busy neighborhood
- steep late fee of $75
- poor access to apartment
- unwillingness to cooperate with client on issues
- multiple attempts to charge me more then what I owe for rent
- near a very noisy intersection (can be hard to sleep sometimes)
- $50-$60 of extra fees on top of rent (they will not tell you about this)
- rent is not actually 1 - 2 months free, but slightly less (like about 3 1/2 weeks or 7 1/2 weeks)
I have received dishonest and malice behavior from the staff. These below experiences are heavily effecting my review:
- Was told rent was do on the 5th, but it's actually the 4th. When I paid I was told the 5th "is the late day" and was charged a $75 late fee.
- due to the grace period to pay rent, I sometimes don't get my check in time thus I have to pay the late fee. They refuse to move the due date or increase the grace period.
- they attempted to charge me for an extra month of rent. I stopped them. They also tried to double my late fee one time.
The neighborhood is extremely busy and noisy most of the time. Due to the big windows, even inside your apartment you hear what's going on outside. Their are apartments that offer more for the same price or less, in more peaceful neighborhoods. This place is like fools-gold. It appears to be awesome, but ultimately is not worth it. Their business practices are also greedy and staff is dishonest. It makes living here stressful when it should be enjoyable. Because of this, I find the rent to be overpriced and I regret moving here.
