I truly enjoyed my year at BSC. If I have the chance to return, I would look for a quieter, more affordable unit or apartment within BSC. Many thanks to Rachel for all her help and support.

Into my lease and my experience so far leans more toward convenience primarily due to the short commute to work, and a nuisance to live in. Before signing, I specifically asked the property manager about noise levels and was told they were “unnoticeable.” Unfortunately, that has not been the case. I have already contacted the police twice due to late-night disturbances, including fights outside my window and individuals blasting music from their cars around midnight. Additionally, early-morning sirens from passing fire trucks and frequent engine revving at the nearby stoplight, mostly at night, contribute to a daily noise issue, making restful sleep difficult.
The apartment itself presented challenges as well. The paint odor upon move-in was significantly stronger than disclosed, and I avoided sleeping in the unit for the first week; the smell took roughly two weeks to dissipate. While the property manager’s response time is generally consistent, I often find myself documenting issues with photos and videos as a precaution. Given these circumstances, I fully expect my security deposit to be returned, though time will tell.
The studio is acceptable but not worth the $1,735 monthly rate. The gym is decent, parking is essential, and the in-unit kitchen and washer/dryer are convenient. The surrounding food options are great, and community interactions vary from friendly to neutral. However, the studio space becomes cramped once you add a bed, so minimal belongings are recommended.
If you choose to move in, review the lease carefully. It was attempted to add a fungus-related charge that contradicted the contract, and I was also not informed that building access assistance from management incurs a $100 fee if you forget your key, after the first instance.
Overall, the persistent noise is my biggest concern. While the location is convenient, this experience has convinced me to move elsewhere once my lease ends, likely to a condo or house.
