Current Resident

I’ve lived at Brim & Crown for over a year and, until recently, had a generally good experience. But over time it’s become clear that management consistently avoids responsibility, lets issues slide, and prefers to blame residents as a group rather than take meaningful action.
Most notably, my car was broken into in the Brim & Crown garage — rear left window smashed — and at least two other cars were hit the same night. We pay $100/month per car to park in what’s advertised as a secure garage, yet no one from building management was present while residents were in the garage filing police reports. I emailed management immediately and got no response for over 24 hours.
The next morning, we received a tone-deaf email titled “Important Reminder: Garage Awareness & Vehicle Safety.” It vaguely mentioned a rise in vehicle incidents across the state, then placed all responsibility on residents, with tips like:
“Always lock your vehicle.”
“Remove or conceal valuables from plain view.”
“Do not allow other vehicles to follow or ‘tag’ in behind you at the garage gate.”
“Do not allow pedestrians to enter through the garage gate.”
“Never leave your keys or key fob inside the vehicle.”
“Avoid leaving your car idling unattended.”
“Report any suspicious activity directly to building management.”
There was no mention that multiple break-ins had occurred in their own garage, no acknowledgment of the obvious flaws in their security, and no plan to improve anything. The garage gate at Brim & Crown is completely ineffective — people can literally walk right through it, even when it’s shut.
Car break-ins are rising in Norwalk, and Brim & Crown’s response shows they will do nothing to stop them. If you’re thinking of moving here, don’t. Your property isn’t safe — and management won’t care when something happens.
