I am writing to you as a long-term resident of Santa Fe Village to share some feedback regarding the implemented parking policies and fees. While I understand that the management team had worked hard to maintain order and prevent the parking abuse caused by previous short-term renters—who frequently overcrowded the lot with commercial work trucks—those tenants are no longer here. Unfortunately, the current policy inadvertently penalizes the loyal, long-term residents who have always followed the rules. I would like to propose a tiered parking allocation system that fairly balances resident needs with property management control: Included Space Allocation: Each lease should include uncompensated outside parking spaces scaled to the size of the rented garage. A 1-car garage would include 1 additional outside space, and a 2-car garage would include 2 additional outside spaces, included in the base rent. Paid Additional Parking: If a household requires parking beyond this baseline allocation, they would pay an additional monthly fee, subject to space availability. This approach ensures that long-term tenants feel valued and are not financially strained by problems they did not cause, while still giving management full authority to regulate and monetize excessive vehicle limits. I enjoy living in this community and want to see it thrive. I would gladly agree to discuss this proposal with you briefly in person or via phone.
Thank you for your time, consideration, and dedication to improving our community
