Capitol Towers - Towers and Villas

Tamara has rapidly excelled in my expectations of professionalism. Not only does she greet and say hello to my wife and I in the morning as we leave the lobby of the building or as we are returning back home to the Tower. Tamara has mastered the performance of the custodial arts like an Olympian masters, receiving five gold medals. Western stairwell has been a bit of a problem especially the fact that I go up and down the thing three times a day to take my dog out so she can go to the bathroom. Sadie my dog who’s very selective, Loves Tamara! I’ve noticed a variety of garbage that has collected over the months from either Vandals or from homeless population. We have here in Sacramento. I was going to take it upon myself to give the west stairwell a cleaner look without me giving appearing as stuffy as I drink a 1800 century silver goblet of wine floating in the office lifted by my own flatulence but that would be bad for my image and imagination. The soul of the city with the sufficiency Tamara took on going up each flight of stairs, that’s 14+ P And then probably addressed the eastern wing stairwell as well. with a mob in hand,not a power washer from my understanding. Do you know the kind of dedication it takes for somebody to go up a stairwell with a mop and mop each floor, like a navy seal that just graduated from the Academy in San Diego. That is dedication focus and professionalism, all summed up in one thing brilliantly done. Possibly a raise might do for here. Or some kind of regional manager, custodial arts mastery position she got the skills that make people great full to be in this city. Just imagine the city with billboards up off Tamara all over the place with a mop in hand and a spay bottle in the other saying, let’s clean the city Tamara style. The success of Sacramento would be flowing with Mr. Grant’s, and Mr. Franklins. Think of the possibilities. Thank you Tamara for your efforts and support

The property is a mess. The outside is stained with dog urine. The trash is all over the parking garage and around the building. The lobby is disgusting. Overrun by large dogs, it feels more like a kennel than a luxury apartment complex, people who move out leave dirty clothing, broken appliances and furniture in the lobby. The trash by the mailboxes is overflowing. The elevators are disgusting and unsanitary, dog urine soaked rugs, filthy fingerprints and just plain dirt (not to mention they are always broken). When entering the hallways -horrific-garbage cans left in the halls from the "valet garbage" service- that no one uses properly, leaving bags, boxes and trash by their doors, the smell is overwhelming. Apartments have mats in front of their doors that are continually being tripped over(just waiting for a law suit) and the dingy light is still enough to show stained carpets, scratched walls and dirt. I have kept an apartment here for over twenty five years and since the time Weidner has taken over with revolving managers-the property continues to decline. Contacting corporate offices doesn't seem to help anymore--they just don't care.

While the Capitol Towers are amazingly located within walking distance to DOCO, the State Capitol, & many other Downtown Sacramento attractions, I’d be remiss to review the property without mentioning some downsides. When I first toured, I was told that all residents of the mid rise, apartment homes, & tower had access to all 3 gyms, pools, & common areas on the property. I had yet to utilize these features, but was told today that my key fob doesn’t work on entrance to mid-rise apartment amenities because “they are all 3 separate.” I informed the woman helping me that Marquis, who had been assigned to my lease agreement, advertised use of ALL property amenities as part of his sales pitch. The current employee told me she was very sorry, but that Marquis had been fired. Residents of Capitol Tower still maintain access to the Olympic-sized pool & gym room; however, our private lounge has been closed for months due to an “ongoing ceiling leak.” I understand unforeseen circumstances are always possible, but inaccessibility of amenities included in my lease agreement are very disappointing and inconvenient. My neighbors & I were led to believe that specific amenities would be available, but that’s clearly not priority. A whole new dog park was even constructed within the last couple months. This is wonderful for my dog-owning neighbors, but leaves me wondering why our lounge has not been prioritized. There are many other facilities that offer competitively priced & attractive living spaces downtown. I toured quite a few before settling on Capitol Towers. While I still enjoy my high-rise view, the amenities are lacking. Upon reflection, I would’ve been happier at one of many other spaces that offer shared rooftop patio/lounge options. When living in a small apartment, shared community spaces are a vital part of what I seek. Going forward, I’m sure prospective tenants would appreciate better transparency from management about what amenities are available.
