Overall I am happy living here but there are things I wish were different:
High level of noise from road traffic, cannot open windows or road noise over takes the whole apartment. Makes us nearly fully reliant on the very loud AC unit in summer and that gets expensive, but the loud AC unit is nothing compared to road noise so we make do.
Dumpsters number only 3 for the whole complex and are often overflowing within 3 days of garbage pick up. Garbage is strewn around the dumpster areas and create problems for cars and people nearby. Not visually appealing either, making whole apartment complex appear trashy despite paying steep rent.
Very loud AC and Heating fan Unit, disruptive and prevents hearing between rooms.
Cheap vinyl flooring, already peeling up within 2 mo of moving in in a few places (<6 mo from finishing apartment building construction).
Wish the porch was a larger.
No hot tub :( but great pool and gym.
No green-space accessible onsite for residents or pets to enjoy, despite pet friendly claims. Planted areas are mostly border areas with woodchips and sparse low growing plants appropriate for climate, but provide very limited shade or heat relief. A central garden/landscaped area would be major value added.

Sierra is a great place to start your journey in northern California . Moved here from Utah and I just renewed my lease for another year. Great parking, not a lot of noise and very well maintained community. Staff is always friendly and helpful.

Teens/students can talk loudly past 12am sometimes. After school hours, little ones ride their scooters/bikes around the parking area with friends.
