La Veta Grand Apartments

If I was as bad at my job as the property management here is, people would be dead, and I would be in jail for negligence. The conditions in this complex are bad enough that I have reached out to the Mayor and city council in the past. It's pathetic. This property is an absolute joke: there is always at least one utility that doesn't work, and most often it is several at a time. My apartment has flooded three times from pipes breaking in the walls, and it has taken over 48 hours for management to respond in the past, resulting in hundreds of dollars in ruined property. Two years ago the entire complex had no gas for a week, which meant the stoves, or hot water. When I approached the front office they told me that I could MICROWAVE bowls of water to bathe with in the meantime. There are constant electrical issues, several outlets in the apartment have not worked since the day I moved in, at this very moment, half of the outlets, and the oven are currently not receiving power (confirmed by maintenance) Bathrooms are horribly ventilated, and you will constantly be battling to prevent mold. Laundry facilities, gyms, pools, and anything else are constantly in states of complete disrepair, and there is such a lack of urgency to do anything by management. But you better believe that your rent will be raised as high as possible at any opportunity. Living here has been mentally and financially exhausting for the absolute bare minimum.

I have lived here for nearly three years. The office staff is consistently impossible to contact, not incredibly helpful, and always rude. The parking is limited, and street parking is manageable but not ideal. Maintenance, though, is amazing. Prompt, polite, and effective.
