The Place at Wilmot North

I have lived here 3 different times in 4 different apartments. When I first applied in 2009-10 there was a waiting. Wilmot North was the place to live for seniors. The management was very friendly and attentive. We had many social activities of all types. When there was food involved it was left for residents, not taken home by staff. We had beautiful flowers and shady trees. It felt like home and we felt like valued seniors. Then the property was sold and what we expected to continue changed. We've become income not people. The property has been let run down. We don't have the same community. There's no newsletter, activities are limited and usually the same. The morning coffee klatch is gone. The regular popcorn is gone. We had a sharing table. We had parking lot rummage sales, David held jewelry sales, we had dances and performances. Many of us don't participate anymore as we don't feel like a family. And what accommodations are being made with seniors and disabled residents that weren't already in place? The pool lighting is now too low for evening use. The elevators work off and on. The call box doesn't work. We don't have fobs for the complex doors and still have to fumble with keys. Is there a recumbent bike in the fitness room tor people who cannot climb on the higher bikes. Why isn't there vinyl in all apartments - these are concrete floors. The kitchen cabinets need to be lowered as we get shorter as we age. And of course we have the same apartments that were an average of $750/mo at a much higher cost while Social Security hasn't increased to keep up. I know there's no hope of washer/dryers in units. Keep in mind this property was designed and built specifically for seniors which have differents needs than others. Thank you.
