There is a MASSIVE tree bordering the house. It has a pretty large crack in it. 2 years ago, one of its large branches fell a few feet away from the apartment. If it had landed on the apartment, the top unit would have been squashed instantly. The remaining bits of the tree seem to be dying slowly, and so is the overall building.
I hear loud creaks and have nail heads begin to break through my ceiling and stick out. When people walk up the stairs, you can feel all the vibrations. The building's structural integrity has decreased a ton, maybe because it is a really old building and because it is on a nasty slant of a hill. The parking lot is near unusable because of the slant. The rain and wind also take a toll on things, and I really think we are one windy storm away from this whole building coming down.
Management is unresponsive. They don't seem to be that helpful. Rent is raised every single year. They will wait for an accident to take action. I hope I am gone by then.
Multiple neighbors in this small building of 8 units have experienced burglary. One of my multiple hunting cameras caught a picture of someone suspicious looking at my door who ran away . Seems like a person likes to prey on new people that move in.
Water and electricity is an extra 200-250 a month, and now they have added on small things like garbage pickup, pest control, and renters insurance, all on top of guaranteed rent increases each year.
Not to mention, we all got a letter in the mail about a led problem. I am not sure how much longer I
Maybe a year ago, I would have said this place is decent for the budget, but since things have degraded so much and since they will be raising the price further, I'd advise other look elsewhere for a long term lease.
Hoping that they can turn this place around, but it will take some investment and at the very least, a tiny bit of attention from management before they lose the investment that they are trying so ruthlessly to monetize unsafely.
