7 Ideas for Memorable Client Appreciation Events

Planning an event is the perfect idea if you’re looking to show your clients and business partners that you appreciate working with them. The gathering will make it possible to reconnect with everyone and will help keep you top of mind as an involved real estate agent.

While hosting a successful event does require some planning and preparation, it’s easy to keep costs down if it is simple but fun. Give yourself a month to plan and promote the event on your website and social media accounts. Also, aim to hold at least a couple of these get-togethers each year.

Here are a few things to keep in mind when planning your client appreciation event:

  • Know your audience and choose events that make sense in terms of what your average client is like. Do you deal mostly with families? Young professionals? Seniors looking to downsize?
  • If you plan to take photos and/or videos at your event, be sure to get consent from clients to use those images.
  • If you’re looking for new business, you may suggest that clients bring friends.
  • Be sure to include any important details clients should know in the invitation, such as location, dress code (if there is one) and whether they need to RSVP.
  • Send thank-you cards or emails to your clients after your event.

Food Truck Party

Book a local food truck (or two) and invite clients to enjoy a tasty meal. This could be an easy option to host in the parking at your office or any other location that might work. Set up some tables and chairs, have napkins and other accessories available in your brand colors, and get some family-friendly music playing — simple, fun and effective.

Seasonal Photo Shoots

An excellent option for both families and couples, seasonal photo shoots are a fun way to thank your clients and business partners. Hire a photographer and someone to play Santa or the Easter Bunny, and you’ve got yourself a photo shoot. A Halloween-themed shoot would also be great with costumes and props. This option can work at your office or any other location you choose.

Outdoor BBQ

Hold an outdoor BBQ at a park, a beach, or even at a model home if you sell new builds. BBQs are fun and casual events that allow clients to relax and mingle while enjoying a meal. Grill up some burgers, hot dogs and veggies, and don’t forget the chips and drinks. Bring along some branded swag for giveaways.

Ice Cream Social

An afternoon or evening ice cream social is sure to be a hit with kids and adults alike! Pick up some ice cream, frozen yogurt and an array of toppings, and serve everything buffet-style so clients can make their own tasty creations. Decorate using your branded colors, and consider having branded reusable plastic cups, bowls and spoons for take-home gifts.

Donut/Cookie Delivery

Who doesn’t love a surprise sweet treat? Grab some donuts or cookies from a local bakery and deliver them to clients, along with a little thank-you note to let them know how much you appreciate their business and support. Be sure to include some vegan and gluten-free options in the mix. Though technically not get-togethers, the deliveries will surely be events in the eyes of your recipients.

Movie Night in the Park

Another fun option for families is a movie night under the stars at a local park. Rent a large screen and a projector, or hire a company to take care of the technical logistics for you. Then encourage clients to bring blankets or lawn chairs and provide drinks and snacks for the ultimate movie night.

Private Concert

Hire a local musician or band and hold a private concert for your clients. The event can be organized in a park or other public space, or consider setting it up in your office if the space is suitable. Offer beverages and snacks and let clients mingle while enjoying a live performance held just for them.
