The back-to-school season offers a fantastic opportunity to boost your real estate marketing and connect with parents in your area. It can be a good time to reach out to existing clients, as well as any new families in the community.

Here are some great options for back-to-school marketing that allow you to help families celebrate returning to school while also giving you some prime strategies for getting your name out there.

Prep School-Themed Content

Create some school-themed content for your blog, and be sure to promote it on all your social media channels to reach the right audiences. Some topic ideas might include local businesses that offer back-to-school deals for parents, the effect of school districts on home values, or after-school programs available in the area.

Throw a Back-to-School Party

Take advantage of the last of the warm weather by throwing a back-to-school party to show your clients your appreciation. Whether it’s a family-friendly picnic in a park or an adults-only cocktail party, build the theme around the start of the school year and bring along some branded swag for giveaways.

Sponsor a PTA Meeting

Buying dinner or snacks and drinks for parents attending the local PTA meeting is a great way to meet residents and let them know that you want to see local schools succeed. This opportunity for connection will keep your name top of mind if they’re ever looking to sell or buy a home.

Drop Off a Branded Goodie Bag

Whether you drop off goodie bags to parents directly or work with a PTA to distribute them, be sure to include some fun elements like candy or other treats, along with branded pens, pencils, notepads and erasers. Everyone loves free stuff, and it will help get your name out there. As always, don’t forget to include your business card!

Organize a Charity Bake Sale or Food Drive

Work with a school’s faculty and PTA to create a charity bake sale or food drive (or sponsor an existing one to show your support). Put together some flyers to drum up interest in the event. Have the school choose a charity to receive the proceeds from the event or donate the proceeds to the school directly.

Hold a School Supplies or Clothing Drive

Like the bake sale or food drive, you can organize a school supplies or clothing drive to help collect much-needed items from community members to benefit students and kids in the neighborhood. Collect supplies like pencils, notebooks, binders, markers, crayons and backpacks or warm winter gear or other clothing essentials kids might need.

Sponsor a Sports Team

Connect with a school’s administration to find out how to sponsor one of the school’s sports teams. Consider purchasing the team’s jerseys, which would display your name and/or logo on them, identifying you as the team’s sponsor. It’s a great way to support local schools and gain exposure.
