Here at Point2, we get to see a lot of homes. Condos, single-family homes, apartments… if it’s been listed, we’ve seen it. Of course, our favourites are the unusual homes. Treehouses, earth houses, famous houses—you never know what you’ll find in real estate around the world.
Today we’re taking a look at some unusual homes right here in Canada. If you’re looking for a residence that’s a little out of the ordinary, one of these might be just the ticket!
Let’s take a peek at 3 very unusual Canadian homes:
Why buy a basic lot when you can buy a whole island? There’s a plethora of islands for sale in Canada. We found dozens on PrivateIslandsOnline.com. And we even found the one shown above on our very own Point2 Homes! Three connected islands with a private beach and a pond for only $195,000? Sign us up! Now, does anyone know how to build a house?
The Enchanted Forest
If a magical and not-entirely-realistic property is on your shopping list, boy, do we have a treat for you! The Enchanted Forest was recently up for sale in Malakwa, British Colombia. This listing included 38.1 acres of land featuring more than 350 different folk art figurines including Goldilocks, Snow White, Captain Hook and the Three Little Pigs. We don’t think you can really live there—it’s kind of a tourist attraction—but there are a number of fantastical houses. And there must be a groundskeeper’s cottage on the property somewhere!
Grain Bin Homes
And of course, we can’t forget the unusual home that started it all (and went viral). Click here to see our original post on Grain Silo homes. Some helpful commenters later taught us that the residences featured are made out of grain bins, not silos, but they’re still just as neat!
