Title: Customer Care Representative
Start Date: February 2011
We’d love to introduce you to Customer Care Representative Dylan Cline, but you probably already know him! He’s the friendly voice on the phone when you call Customer Care, the helpful guy responding to your queries on the message board and, more recently, the author behind the Point2 Agent Product Updates blog series.
When he’s not busy coming to the aid of our wonderful customers, Dylan likes to play videogames, listen to music and do really nice things for other people – like the time he chopped off his hair for charity.
We asked Dylan to answer a few questions about himself. Here’s what he had to say:
What is your favorite type of music?
I don’t have one constant favorite type of music. Lately I’ve been listening to a lot of rap (Watsky, Grieves, Atmosphere, P.O.S), but I also listen to everything from old folk songs to jazz to heavy metal. It’s a big mix.
What is your favorite book of all time and why?
My favorite book… Now that’s a hard one. The Lord of the Rings really started my love of fantasy, so I believe that (as common as it is to choose), I will have to pick LOTR.
What is your favorite movie of all time?
Either Willow, V for Vendetta or The Princess Bride. All three are movies I will watch a couple times per year. I love them to death.
If you have an hour of free time to spare, what do you do with it?
Usually with an hour, I’d be reading, playing videogames or messing with designing my website.
What do you like best about your job?
My team and our customers. By and large our customers are all friendly and nice to deal with, and the team here absolutely rocks.
If you could have dinner with anyone, alive or historical, who would it be?
Bill Nye, the Science Guy. I have so much respect for that man, and from reading and listening to interviews, I think he would be super cool to sit down and chat with.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
Happy. 😉 Something that’s nice and achievable.
Do you speak any other languages, and which ones?
I don’t speak any, though I can read the rune alphabet from Lord of the Rings. That’s gotta count for something!
If you could own one piece of famous art, sculpture, memorabilia or historic artifact, what would the item be?
I would absolutely love to own one of the old Roman Legion standards (with the eagle, and SPQR and such). Hang it in my livingroom. That, or anything owned by Genghis Khan.
What are some things on your bucket list?
First and foremost, because it’s entirely achievable, I want to visit San Diego and catch a One I Red concert, and check out Comicon. Beyond that though, I’d like to visit the great wall of China, Stonehenge, go on a castle-seeing trip across England or France, and publish a book.
What was your last Do It Yourself project?
I am in the middle of my current DIY project, which is to set up a website for tips and tricks related to a videogame I play. I don’t use any graphic interfaces for designing the site, so I’m writing all the code by hand. It’s quite a bit of fun!
If you could have a super power, what would it be?
Healing factor. I don’t even care if it would still hurt, provided I could have something similar to Wolverine’s healing ability.
What is something about you that few people know?
I like trying to do something nice for a stranger once every week or so. Just because I can. I rarely talk about it though, since I don’t think it needs to be mentioned. People should just do nice things for each other. Would make the world a better place.
Thanks for answering our questions, Dylan! (As it turns out, answering questions is something you’re really, really good at.)
